Patty pan squash, tomatoes, courgettes, potatoes, parsnips and runner beans.
You're like me, Elaine, you don't wait for the frost before you lift your parsnips. I always did think that was a bit silly. If you like parsnips you want them when you can get them.
Once they are a decent size I start lifting them - I've got plenty so why wait - I'm a big parsnip fan.
Chicken dinner today and I really did fancy some parsnips so I lifted one of the flower tubs.
I cut the bottoms from the tubs so the roots can go down into the soil. End result after topping and tailing: 774g of juicy parsnips.
I remember you telling us about this last year - I think its a brilliant idea - and guess what - the parsnips I lifted to roast with the Sunday joint - I forgot to do them. There was such a lot of other veg on the plate - carrots, runners and broc - that there wasn't any room left. I'll just have to use them in the week now! What variety of parsnip do you use in pots?
