Comment by Colin Robinson on August 5, 2012 at 21:54 That's my favourite type of cloche, Elaine. I use them for early plantings in spring as well and they really do make a difference.
Use them all the time, nearly everything i plant in spring has a pop or cider bottle!!
Comment by elaine rickett on August 6, 2012 at 18:59 Trouble is we don't drink that much pop so the same ones have been used over and over for years couldn't do without them.
My problem too! But i unselfishly drink cider purely to provide bottles!

Comment by Catherine on August 7, 2012 at 22:04 Snap.....Lemonade and Cider have been copiously consumed only for the purpose of using as cloches and for sinking in the ground near toms.....that's my excuse and I am sticking to that...LOL! You can also cut them in half and use them as self-watering containers for seeds and seedlings ;)
Comment by elaine rickett on August 8, 2012 at 7:01 How do you do that with the seedlings?
Comment by Catherine on August 8, 2012 at 11:12 This is where I got it from,Elaine...
