The tomatoes are now coming thick and fast, ripening really quickly with the warm weather we have had this weekend.  The Gardeners Delight have been exceptional so far, best year I have had in a long time,  The strange thing is the trusses are all growing at the back of the plant, which I have never had before, so i have to crawl behind the plants to pick them.  After the initial battering the outdoor Sungold  had earlier in the year, they too are doing really well.  So I reckon it all hands to the decks for a session of pasta sauce making.  The large ribbed Fiorentinos are also just starting to ripen, these are also great for making tomato sauce as there are very few seeds in them.  I can see the available space in the freezer running out fairly quickly at this rate.

Lucky you! There is fruit on my handful of Gardener's Delights but they're still green.

Mine are in the greenhouse - it's got to make a difference I think.

Ooohhh! I'm jealous. After 3 years of blight we decided not to do tomatoes. I think we possibly would have been ok but it's heartbreaking to have nurtured the plants for so long and to not get anything from them because of blight. We lived in Berkshire one year and had 14 kg of tomatoes from 'Totem' but since we moved to Wales the air is noticeably more humid/damp and we haven't managed to get any. I think it'll have to wait until we can get a bigger garden and a greenhouse.

If the conditions are right, I believe you can even get blight in a greenhouse, so it's not a foolproof way to grow tomatoes.
