I'm not going to rabbit on about the attrocious weather we have been having - only to say that I am grateful that it rained whilst we were on holiday - as I was worried that if we had a heatwave whilst we were away the veg garden would have suffered. As it is, all I have to contend with is the amount of weeds that have sprung up, but even that is not as bad as I thought it would be. continued here
Comment by Catherine on June 13, 2012 at 15:53 I don't think that is slow progress, Elaine! Everything seems to be blooming in your veggie garden :)
Comment by elaine rickett on June 13, 2012 at 16:19 Not as fast as I would like Catherine - I'm not known for my patience!

Comment by Caro on June 14, 2012 at 18:10 We must be having warmer rain down south Elaine - my spinach is getting ready to bolt, the carrot leaves are about 8 inches, bean pods forming on the broad beans, garlic possibly ready to harvest, potatoes flowering, etc, etc - oh yes, and a very late flowering PSB has just showed up!! On the other hand, my squashes are just sitting there ... Hope you had a nice holiday!
Comment by elaine rickett on June 14, 2012 at 18:33 OK OK don't rub it in - nice to hear everything is full steam ahead down south - it is pretty much still winter in the Midlands. Hols were great thanks.
