Because my original runner bean plants don't seem to be doing too well - rubbish in fact - I sowed some more a couple of weeks ago in a large container. These are now beginning to climb and look in a much better state than the originals - fingers crossed for a late harvest.
Comment by Caro on July 28, 2012 at 15:04 I'm about to do the same Elaine! My beans either rotted or stopped growing; finally, things seem to be on the move for the plants that survived and I may even get to eat french beans before the week's out! However, there's just not enough for more than a taste so I'm resowing with the mindset that I have nothing to lose!
Comment by elaine rickett on July 28, 2012 at 16:14 It is very disappointing but you just have to keep trying - hopefully we'll get there eventually - after all the summer has only just started
Comment by Caro on July 28, 2012 at 16:18 Oh I hope so! Although I'm currently sitting here thinking whether I should put a cardigan on - it's clouded over outside and the wind has quite a chill in it!!
