I took the plunge and planted out parsnips, beetroot, carrots and celery that had been growing in seed trays. I covered them over with fleece so they wouldn't get washed out. Needless to say - they didn't need watering in!
My new post on Slow Progress -@ A Woman of the Soil to see what a difference a year makes weatherwise in the veg garden.
Comment by Caro on May 3, 2012 at 19:11 Good for you Elaine - a brave move and I hope it's one that works! I've been thinking of doing the same, especially with the beetroot, a veg that I look forward to. Heading over to your blog now for the full read ... ; )
Comment by Caro on May 3, 2012 at 19:13 Me again - your link is broken; you need to take out the second "http//". I'll find you via my blog but thought you'd like to know ... x
Comment by Debbie on May 3, 2012 at 21:19 I put mine out a couple of weeks ago as I grow them in loo roll tubes in trays. Been to the plot this evening to check on progress and they seem to be fine despite rain, gales and cold. Bless 'em
Comment by elaine rickett on May 3, 2012 at 21:35 Thanks Caro - not sure how to change it now
