According to the Co-op's price (3 sticks of rhubarb for £1.50) I have just pulled £10's worth this morning!

isnt it a good feeling when you see the price of what you just pulled and how much you saved.

Aldi are selling 2 (not as healthy as yours) sticks for 69p on offer.

but it always makes me laugh abit when i see people buying it when its in season in our own garden.

It just goes to prove that growing your own is cheaper than buying - most of the time!

I picked £3 worth this this morning and have eaten half.

Even if growing your own isn't cheaper it's surely better in every other way.

Rhubarb crumble for tea tonight, yummy. I've stopped thinking about how much money I'm saving by growing my own but it has substantially reduced our food bill.

The satisfaction of harvesting your own crops is worth far more.

I always consider not only the price of veg, but also the "air-miles". Most of the asparagus in the shops today is from Peru (approx 8000 miles), but I prefer my own (approx 0 miles)!

It is shocking Mark - when you look at the labels on salady things in the supermarket - radishes from Israel etc.
