Q: when is a polyT not a polyT ? A: when it's a play/store/junk area ;-))time to reclaim my patchhorse manure from neighbour ( is there a pun in there ? )
Fantastic polytunnel, the growing possibilities there are mind boggling. If I had a tunnel that size, my garden would be almost fully covered. Are those bonsai I see there? Am a bonsai fan as well. Pretty demanding inspection team you seem to have there, mine are at the age now where the garden is somewhere you look for dad when, 1.Something's broken. 2. Need money. 3. Mam says lunch is ready.
HA HA !! I know exactly what you mean Trevor. Just the one bonsai & various Japanese acers in pots, too cold here in the Fens to winter outside so they come into the polyT till spring. I'll pop a photo of them in leaf.
Just seen your photos of the acers, really nice, they would make great bonsai.
I used to have a few bonsai Trevor, they fascinate & intrigue, especially the bare trunk jin examples. Away visiting family at the w/end, decided to put the acers in the polyT early due to the storm warnings. Gave me the opportunity to check them over, plenty of buds on all of them for next year which is encouraging as the hot summer took its toll abit on them despite always placing them on the shade side of the building.
Still have some bonsai, crab apples, hawthorns, larches. Grown most of them from seed, they're about 25 years old now, although they suffered badly this summer when I left teenage son in charge while I was on holiday.
due to working/training away from home for a spell some years ago I decided to release my bonsai from their trays & plant them up in the garden as they would not get the necessary care required. All were home grown like yours, some were about 15 yrs old (all that wireing & pruning with miniature pruners). I now have large scots pine & various other conifer trees from them & now keep them in shape with a 12' extendable tree lopper LOL!! Yin & Yang ;-))
