I agree! I too have a friendly Robin in my garden. He follows me around whenever I'm at work on the plot, hoping I'll expose some lovely bugs for him to eat...

Hi, lovely robin pics. Have just been loading the washing machine with the backdoor open and stopped to watch 3 thrushes hanging off the Dogwood just outside eating the berries - they're so beautiful. We are lucky to be adjacent the the Downs at the allotment so get a lot of wild birds coming in to eat from the edible hedges. if you are part of a community project (maybe an allotment assoc) you can get free whips from the woodland Trust to plant, things like Rowan, Cherry, Hazel, Blackthorn etc. the tiny pond supports an astonishing amount of life including newts and dragonflies and we have basking areas for slow worms and lizards, and adders...but they're very shy, which is not a bad thing. Best thing is seeing flocks of goldfinches swooping in for the berries but of course don't have a pic of that - just stand and stare with a stupid grin on my face. Attached photo possibly in pest category but had to take his pic as he was such a cheeky chappie!

I've just topped up the bird table and feeders, if I stand at the kitchen window for 10 minutes it's amazing how many birds pass through.

Mark thanks, and that's a wonderful action shot of yours!

Evelyn that's superb! I've seen them flying around the allotments but have yet to see one on my plot.

Sarah thanks, and lucky you seeing what you do! There are brambles, scrubs, trees and a brook around much of my site so there's plenty of other wildlife I've not mentioned. I like your cheeky chappie , there are plenty of his relatives hereabouts!

Damo doing that has to be one of life's simple pleasures!
