UK Veg Gardeners

2 days activities here.

In order to give the tobacco plants an area of there own and away from the potatoes/tomatoes, I decided to move the darlek and 100 gallon steel water tank and grow the tobacco in that area, 15 X 5 feet. The raised onion bed was next to the tank so that got a good 70 gallons, the remainder, on the PSB etc. Tank then moved across plot and plonked on top of the problem area (horse radish). Compost bin emptied, moved next to tank and refilled, using HOSE PIPE  washed out tank and filled. 10 red Duke of York first earlies then put in, earlier than i intended, but i can easily cover them if frost is forecast. Victorian Colossal peas had been soaked and a 4 metre row of them put in, harvested some PSB and gave that to my mate Paul's wife ( Paul doesn't eat brassicas, consequently they fail when he tries to grow them??). Most of the plot has been given another hoeing, more blue water pipe aquired, cut into 2 metre lengths and used to constuct a debris netting tunnel over caulie rows. On the home front, because the propagator is cooking the tobacco seedlings, decided to start  gherkins and peppers with them, also 7 Red brussel sprouts set. Next job, dig the tobacco plantation.
