Its slow-going on Plot 13...

After a few stops and starts I have managed to get my first crop - a large bunch of daffodils (King Alfred) to give my mum for Easter!! Have finally met the president of the allotment committee and also some more of the neighbours - a friendly bunch.

Ive been busy clearing other peoples rubbish from my plot - people seem to think coz the plot isnt cleared they can dump their rubbish on mine :-( So still lots of rubbish to sort!!   Think my allotments lack a bit of community feel that many others have. :-(

Managed to add some gladioli and gypsopholia into my flower bed...

Have started digging out the fruit bed and planted in my raspberries (Autumn Bliss), Blackberries (Karaka Black), and a couple of goji berry plants to get some more super-berry goodness!!  Liking the suggested benefits of eating these!!

Recycled some old fence posts to attached some strong wire to for supports... Need to look at getting some currants in there with some strawberries next!

Have chucked in some potatoes, 1st Earlies (Foremost) and 2nd Earlies (Charlotte), and have kinda planned out where I am going to put my main crop (Maris Piper) - so unless something tragic happens I am in line for more potatoes that I can cope with!! :-)

But alas it is back to work again tomorrow so all I can do is more planning and boring my students with applying business theories to the growing of potatoes or tomatoes - works well with explaining the effect of demand and supply on pricing!!! :-)

Happy gardening!! :-)

Are you still growing on your balcony now that you have an allotment?

Im not elaine... sadly i had to move out my apartment so my plant collection has been divided between the allotment and sanctuary at my friends house - although I suspect many of the plants will end up planted in their garden if they stay there much longer!! :-)

I trust you are well...

Aw that's a shame - you were so proud of your container garden - still when your allotment is up and fully running you will have lots of good things going on instead - I am good thanks -  haven't been posting as much as I would like - life sometimes gets in the way.
