Comment by Colin Robinson on March 8, 2013 at 23:23 My autumn plantings usually fail so I've given up and sow the first few lots in big containers in the greenhouse which are moved out when the weather improves. I currently have 24 small plants which will give us our first picks as early as autumn sown ones would have.

Same thing happened to me, found spring sowings did just as well as autumn ones. So I do the same as Colin now.
