The temperature has dropped rapidly overnight - much too cold for me (a fairweather gardener). So I did the next best thing I pottered in the greenhouse. A bit of harvesting, tidying up plants with dead leaves and getting rid of container plants that have finished continued
Comment by Colin Robinson on October 28, 2012 at 20:57 Your salad leaves are at about the same stage as mine although I do have some winter gem lettuces hearting up nicely. Trouble is one of them's already got botrytis so we're going to have to be extra vigilant with our greenhouse crops this year.
Comment by elaine rickett on October 28, 2012 at 22:44 Yes, I have found some leaves affected I'm trying to keep everything just slightly damp and open the door most days but life in the greenhouse is difficult in winter. As you say vigilance is required.
