Well I'm not making hay exactly - but I thought I would take advantage of this brief spell of sunshine to try and plant out some seedlings that desperately need to go in the ground. My first lot of direct sown beetroot, carrot and parsnip have never emerged so I planted some in pots as a back-up. Even after all this rain, or because of all this rain the seeds still haven't appeared. Time for action. After I have planted them I think I will cover with fleece just in case we get another deluge.
This was taken this morning at the allotment - under the mesh cloches are plantings of cabbage and cauliflowers - you can just see the row of peas and beyond that a row of last years' parsnips.
