Covered the area for next years potatoes with a layer of horse manure sprinkled Sulphate of Ammonia over then added a layer of grass cuttings more SofA and topped with a layer of spent hops coverd with carpet until December then will dig it in

Probably a daft question, Tony, but why the ammonium sulphate? It's not going to be much use to any crop growing next year as its solubility means it will be leached out by winter rains.

Colin I just use it as an activater its as good as garrota and a lot cheaper,before planting potatoes I will add potato fertilser

This years crop of picasso,I am just under 6ft tall
