Comment by Stephen Byrne on February 22, 2011 at 11:52 I spent a few hours on the plot on Sunday, digging potato trenches - will you trench your patch? I'm a novice so I'm following the lead of other plotholders - and a bit of tidying. Noticed a few crocus and daffs popping through at the bottom of the plot that I've not touched yet. It's rained since so glad I got a few hours in when I did.

Stephen I dig my trenches when I plant the potatoes, which I'll be doing from mid March onwards I hope. Other plotholders are generally helpful to novices, and when I started out I was certainly grateful to some of my plot neighbours. Even a few hours now helps later on when we get really busy!
