I think this may be my first blog here at UKVeggardeners. I really like it here because it is all about veggies. I am on a few other gardening sites, but flower growers seem to be in the majority and UK also has similar temps to us here over the pond in Ireland!
Thank you Everyone for accepting me here and being my friend. :)
Even though we have had a bad month or so with plants and germination very slow, I think things are getting better despite Mother Nature's attempts to keep winter going.
Plants are showing signs of new growth and seeds are germinating faster too :)
I have just posted some new photos of updated growth on the last day of April 2012 here...

We have moaned and complained long enough now, let's all rejoice and look forward to better weather from now on....sure it can't get any worse....can it ??? LOL!
Cheers and Thanks,
Catherine C.

Comment by Colin Robinson on May 6, 2012 at 23:20 Catherine, I guess your climate in Ireland is about the same as ours in Cumbria and can be defined in one word WET. Gardeners have only been fighting the weather for a couple of thousand years and we aint won yet so if you're not an eternal optimist, take up stamp collecting instead.
Comment by Catherine on May 6, 2012 at 23:27 LOL....Totally agree, Colin!!
Stamps....did that too....don't like sticky tongue, but love dirty fingernails....I am the ultimate, passionate veggie gardener!
Comment by elaine rickett on May 8, 2012 at 8:11 I think everyone's climate is the same at the moment - we seems to have one day fine, one day rain, if I didn't love veg gardening so much I would have given it up as a bad job years ago. I wonder what makes us keep going when everything is against us - weather, pesky critters, etc. It must be some primeval urge to survive against all the odds.
