First frost this morning in our area,checked my compost bins worms were well down in the compost.Cut a piece of carpet to fit under the lid,and wrapped carpet round bins,this should keep the worms happy and prevent them leaving.In hot weather [when we get any]I give the outside of the bins a coat of white emulsion to keep the temperature down a little.In the bottom of my bins I put fine mesh chicken wire,keeps out the moles ,prevents them knicking my worms cover netting with layer of straw to prevent worms falling through the netting
