Comment by Paul Hearne on July 7, 2012 at 15:54 Hi Mr Carrot King ;)
They are Nantes which were sown 6th April so I thought maybe that was long enough, but also the reason why I only took 3 out to see what was happening.
Yes they do look good, I am happy with them just thought they may have been bigger so yep, definately leave them for a bit longer.

Comment by Colin Robinson on July 7, 2012 at 22:54 They look fine but, as Darren says, probably need a bit longer in the ground. I make regular sowings in containers from mid-March and the earlies like Nantes and Amsterdam are now getting to a reasonable size and worth pulling. The maincrop carrots are nowhere near ready.
If you just scrape away a little soil from around the shoulders you can get a good idea of the size without pulling them.
Comment by Paul Hearne on July 8, 2012 at 9:27 Cheers Colin, yes I will do that in future and at least I know for next time how long, what to expect etc...it's all a learning curve just hope I can back it up ;)
