Look edible enough to me
Good colour
May have done with a bit more time in the ground
What variety?

Hi Mr Carrot King ;)

They are Nantes which were sown 6th April so I thought maybe that was long enough, but also the reason why I only took 3 out to see what was happening.

Yes they do look good, I am happy with them just thought they may have been bigger so yep, definately leave them for a bit longer.

I sowed my short carrots 2nd week in March and I won't be pulling them up yet
Stumps normally take approx 22 to 24 weeks to mature fully but we have had some cold and wet weather which has slowed things up

They look fine but, as Darren says, probably need a bit longer in the ground. I make regular sowings in containers from mid-March and the earlies like Nantes and Amsterdam are now getting to a reasonable size and worth pulling. The maincrop carrots are nowhere near ready.

If you just scrape away a little soil from around the shoulders you can get a good idea of the size without pulling them.

Cheers Colin, yes I will do that in future and at least I know for next time how long, what to expect etc...it's all a learning curve just hope I can back it up ;)
