You beat me to it by a few days I think. I'm planning to have my first ones in a day or two.
Comment by Flighty on July 1, 2012 at 15:26 I picked the first ones earlier today, which I shall eat tomorrow.
Comment by elaine rickett on July 1, 2012 at 15:47 I only planted a dozen plants this year - so they will have to be carefully rationed.
Comment by Caro on July 2, 2012 at 10:39 I had my first taste on Saturday! I've been testing the beans for plumpness for the past week and looking forward to harvesting a few for a salad today. Isn't it great!
PS first time for growing these pink beans, they're so pretty!
Comment by elaine rickett on July 2, 2012 at 11:01 They are pretty but still turn that horrible sludgey green when cooked - I took the outer skin off and they looked a bit more presentable on the plate - only gave a minute portion each - but tasted really sweet.
Comment by Caro on July 2, 2012 at 11:34 I took the outer skin off the last pod, leaving just the bright green beans inside and ate those raw. Very nice but crikey what a fiddly job!
Comment by elaine rickett on July 2, 2012 at 13:13 When they are cooked they just slide off quite easily.
