Hi all.
I'm bored! Haven't been able to go out in the garden for a few days, blooming rain!!! Well, at least it isn't snow, you guys down south can keep it for once!! I did however go out a couple of days ago, but boy! the ground was frozen! After digging in all that compost and organic stuff a few days ago I wanted to tackle the next bit and do some leveling out of the old borders that were behind the wall:
I transplanted a couple of Roses, moved the new Pear Tree (which is a dwarf variety) to the edge of where I dug the other day, chucked some stuff that isn't wanted, put loads of Snowdrops to one side (just for you Hoss!!) and set to work. The ground was totally solid for about four inches so I got the mattock out and hacked into it! Had my little friend turn up and watch me again, so when I was packing up for the day I sneaked out and snapped him a bit closer:
Hope he got all the nasty bugs! I did spot some Vine Weevil grubs in the dirt I hacked out. . . darned things. My next job there is to transplant a Hydrangea bush that is a bit big. It's going to be heavy, so I might wait for hubster to be off at the weekend (as long as it isn't raining again). Then I have a couple of large, well established Rose bushes to tackle, along with the kids Mother's Day gift from last year (a wee weeping willow tree) and then I get into the Oriental corner.
Today however I have had to do inside stuff. The usual housework (ugh!) washing (yawn). A bit of doodling (I have a business where I sell my doodled images for cardmakers). And I decided it was about time I planted?? up my new microleaf kits, and here they are on my not so 'warm kitchen windowsill', the cupboard top!
