It's been a very busy weekend at the allotment. Earthing up potatoes, weeding between onions / garlic and putting nets over the fruit were the more production tasks. But the rain is just making everything grow, and seemingly fastest of all, the weeds. But the weather seems to have its biggest impact on the blackcurrants ...

Comment by Debbie on June 11, 2012 at 21:35 I know how you feel about the weather at the moment. At least we're not watering every day!
Comment by Catherine on June 11, 2012 at 21:55 Dear god....why would people not want to grow Blackcurrants? We have them here since my mam-in-laws time. Last year we went down to collect massive harvest.......one night too late...the blackbirds decided to beat us to them....Nada....Nothing....Nil...left for us the next morning. I am going to camp out this year...and god help birds chirping that morning....LOL!
