First year of veggie growing and I'm lovin' it!!

Up to this year I had only 'dipped my toe' into the world of Grow Your Own.  A couple of tomato plants, a few peas, two bags of potatoes and salad items were the sum of my efforts.  The thing that struck me though, was the taste!  Far, far superior to the stuff you buy in the supermarkets and, of course, FRESH!

So I decided, this year I'd plunge in at the deep end and have a go 'properly.'

The plot is small, some would say compact and bijou, but manageable and has already produce some great tasting crops.

For more of my journey into growing your own, please have a look at my web-site www.spudzsveg.me.uk if you get a minute or two in between sowing, weeding, planting, watering.......... :-)

It's certainly an adventure Matt.  Hope everything grows well and you end up with a bumper harvest :-)

Go for it Terry, and don't worry about the size of your plot. The holy grail of veg growing is to get one pound of food per square foot of cultivated ground so you should be looking at a few hundred pounds weight from your patch.

Thanks Colin, so far so good on the crops (apart from a no-show from the Broad Beans!).  As long as we get a good supply of Peas, beans and carrots my BH will be happy.  :-)
