Due to the poor performance of some of my crops I decided to do a bit of late sowing to try and make up for it. So more carrots, french beans, runner beans and lettuce have been sown - maybe this lot will be a little more successful.
Hi Elaine,
Ive missed news of your plot this year. What happened?
Every I know has been overwhelmed by waves of molluscs.
They have devastated everything in their path.
Elaine, Good plan, i am doing the same ! nothing is as good as last year so i have resown so much up to now and some of it is paying dividends! Keep at it !
Comment by elaine rickett on July 1, 2012 at 15:51 Hi Melinda - not quite sure what you mean - I have been posting quite regularly. The slugs have eaten their way through most things - the runner bean plants are yellowing and spindley and the lettuce are infested with slug dens, other than that everything is fine.
Sorry Elain, it is *me* who hasnt been around.
Ive missed your posts about your progress this year.
Those dratted slugs have made mincemeat of gardens in the relentless rain this spring and summer.
My ornamental garden is lovely, but the veg patch is a write off!
Nematode the suckers!
