Cauliflowers are 2nd top of my growing list, the Kelsaes are obviously top. At present have :-Purple Graffiti, Green Trevi, Orange Sunset, All Year Round, Snow March, Yellow Trevi and Purple Cape in the plot........

I'd be really interested in knowing how those different varieties turn out
I haven't had much luck in growing them of any decent size until I switched to Cornell from Medwyn's, so I have stuck to them

I prepared the ground well last autumn, the seeds are from Kings so suitable for the showbench ( not Lidl's) the rest is in the hands of the Gods with this weather.

What do you do to prepare the ground?

That part of the plot had grown potatoes last year with a good 6" of manure over it, so it just got a thorough digging, heavily limed and then compacted. When hoeing the bed this season I only scrape the surface, in order to keep the ground hard and when planting seriously heel them in..

I have started to use a product called 'Perkla'
It is lime based, high nitrogen, slow release
Gave me brilliant results last year

Think I'll pop down to Lidl tomorrow and see if they have any cauliflower seeds ;-)
