UK Veg Gardeners

I've just been for a quick look round the allotment in the rain as I've not been there since Monday. Not surprisingly it's all looking rather bedraggled but lush.

The broad beans, onions and potatoes are all doing well.  There's lots of new growth on the blackberry, raspberries and strawberries, which even have flowers on them.

The comfrey has grown noticeably in the past week, as has the rhubarb which I shall start picking next time I'm there.

The perennial cornflowers have lots of buds on them, and the aquilegias and lupins are looking good. The roses are now very leafy again.

The carrot seeds in the pots have appeared and flower seedlings are appearing everywhere, as are the weeds needless to say.

All we need now is a change in the weather to dry and sunny.   Happy gardening!

The early spring sun we had seems a long time ago now!

Has been raining all day here. After a bout of cabin fever we decided to go to the plot. Everything looking well but of course not much can be done. Think it will be a day in the greenhouse tomorrow.

Damo it sure does, the March and April weather were the wrong way round!

Victoria hello and welcome to UKVG!  Same here.  It's at times like this that I wish I had a greenhouse, or even a shed bigger than a sentry box.

It really has made a difference both in terms of cultivation and the amount of time I can spend doing stuff.

I bet it has! I live in a flat so don't have a garden, and the plot is only 30 by 60 feet hence the really small shed.
