I took advantage of the sun this morning and planted out the peas that had been waiting in their pots for a few weeks due to the bad weather. They will have to take their chances now - as will the cauliflowers and cabbages that have gone into their final places. I have covered them with mesh tunnels until they have settled, and as we have been having hail, it will give them a little protection. In the greenhouse I have sown another batch of peas and transplanted some broccoli. The squashes and courgettes have now come through, but no sign of the runner beans that I planted last week. All in all I am feeling happy with progress - now all we need is a bit of warm weather to help things along. If you are interested I have written a post at http://awomanofthesoil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/herbylicious.html on how the herb garden is coming along.
Comment by Catherine on April 25, 2012 at 14:35 I also have potted on a new batch of pea seedlings and 6 courgettes. The potting table is getting full again instead of emptying !
Comment by elaine rickett on April 25, 2012 at 16:24 It's that time of year though isn't it more seedlings are accumulated and because of the weather we can't do anything with them all. You are alright though with your polytunnel or do you grow things outside as well.
Comment by Catherine on April 28, 2012 at 11:17 Yes, Elaine. We have outside beds also.
