Hello all gardeners, as you will see i have just joined UK VEG GARDENERS and i am hoping to recieve advice and give info if i can to help those who are short on gardening knowledge. I must say that i am not a professional gardener but i do have 60years of experience thanks to the very old gardeners of years gone bye. In this day and age gardening has changed in many ways such as growing methods and more to the point the feeding of plants of all kinds.I have found since having a blogg that there are quite a lot of gardeners willing to give help but there are also gardeners that are very secretive but i find that is good because it will make you all the more determine to improve. I have only recently learnt how to use a computer properly (or should i say half decent) so it is like anything else it will take time. Look out for my next blogg.

Comment by elaine rickett on January 26, 2012 at 9:40 There are plenty of very knowledgeable gardeners on this site who will impart their knowledge at the drop of a hat - you are in the right place!
Comment by geoffrey dunstan on February 16, 2012 at 19:22 Now that the cold weather has eased i have got quite a few packets of flower seed sown ,As so many gardeners do not have any sort of heating systems in there green houses due to the cost of fuel (electric-oil-gas)there is a way in which you can still sow seeds. I myself went and purchesed a few fibre glass boards which they use on building sites and made a propagating box. I then went and purchased a sheet of fleace which is very very cheap and believe me you will be suprised with the results but you must have patients. I do have a heated proagator but i do use that for growing my onions but now that they are with there secondary leaves they wiil be moved into my other green house very shortly and then i will be sowing a few more onions that will come later on. update later on.

Comment by geoffrey dunstan on February 16, 2012 at 21:18 Hi debbie, I will take some photos and you will see for your self, it is so simple and and cheap and it is so light you can put it any whare. While i think of it you are not to far away from trago mills either at liskeard or you could pop up to stover near newton abbot. I was down at newton abbot not so long ago and they have some john inns no 2( equivalent) for about £ i-86 a bag so i got 4 bags. I managed to check it as there was a broken bag there and i was very pleased with what i saw. just to let you know that if you go onto google and type in wwwgeoffo.blogspot.com you will see geoffs garden. I will be going back down to newton shortly for a few days and i will have a day out and get a few things from trago. How is the gardening goin with you ok i hope.
