thanks for all the 'good luck' messages!

i'm going to be following the book 'your own allotment' by Neil Russell-Jones.  my best friend Tine bought it for me for xmas so now i have the bug!

a bit stuck at the mow, the ground is way too hard to do anything and its still too dark after work, so waiting for the weekend and i'll get a compost site set up and water supply

Day 1

well, having found a site of 1 acre in the village of Chelmorton, Derbyshire, today i made my first visit

 

i met up with Matt who lives in the village (he was nursing a hangover.....) we walk the few yards down the lane and there it is, a muddy patch of land with 2 pigs in the pen, fast asleep.

its looks ok, the view is lovely, the soil is muddy and has been turned over by the pigs (2 ladies who i don't know formally yet) nicely

We've decided on a putting a path…
