"As Stephen and Darren stated unless you can provide growing conditions outside or in a poly tunnel there is no advantage at all to starting seeds away early.  Veg performs best when it just keeps growing with out check.  This is hard…"

"I'm doing a few salad leaves and sprouting seeds, but strictly indoor growing only. The colder nights lately means you need to take care with anything left on windowsills and behind curtains. I t can get surprisingly nippy!"

"Don't rush to start anything - unless you can provide the perfect germination conditions and the perfect growing on conditions.Plants are far better at catching up than they are at struggling and languishing because they have been started too…"

"I've tried to get early crops of toms, peppers and cucumbers by sowing in January inside and it usually fails for a variety of reasons. Apart from some things like winter lettuce and sprouting seeds there's not much I sow before February.…"

"It might depend on where you live. Many seeds also need around 10 hours of daylight as well the higher temperatures that Feb/Mar brings. "

"The seeds are labelled then in line with weather conditions You can cheat and sow indoors if you keep the plants indoors when you pot up Just don't put out until then can take it"

"Hello, and to you too! All potatoes can be chitted.   When you say a bag of new potatoes do you mean ones bought in a supermarket? You can still use them just knock the sprouting bits off before cooking.  It's more usual, and better,…"
