now i am not a salesman i am retired 66 year old who likes his veg patch and not overly fit so last year i bought a backsaver spade and now i enjoy digging the veg ground this tool actualy helps me enjoy digging if you want to see it in action google =  backsaver spade . but bear in mind it is for turning the soil you can not dig holes etc anyone with lots of digging should be interested in this tool i know it was not cheap but what price do you put on making the job easy to my mind spades…

another half hr digging today not much left ,the new back saver spade i bought last year has been worth every penny now i am not fit enough for a regular spade .i have spread manure over the top to winter in ,this year for the first time i have used the straw from some sheep pens from a farm down the road he offered me a manitou bucket full been standing for about 8 months so not rotted down quite enough by spring the weather and the worms should have done their job and it was free and…

this year my veg seem to have gone mad beetroot like footballs ,parsnips gone down out of sight using a spade down the side to get them out must be about 2 foot long good eating but the tails are too long ,as for the sprouting it should be ready next year but most of it has flowered weeks ago and yes it is the late one i have tried eating it but does not taste right had big carrots this year i thought i had beaten the fly but no he has attacked with vengeance can,t wait to use enviromesh for…

earlier talk from me regarding carrot fly ,cabbage root fly etc ,well i have recently bought from amazon some mesh from agralan some mesh for£31and some change it measures 6x3.6 i have not measured in feet inches but i now have 2 of these nets and they cover quite a bit of ground it does not need support it is very light and tough  sold as to last 10 years and i recon it will so if anyone is looking for mesh i suggest you have a look it sure looks and feels value for money against the flimsy…
