"Spot of forward palnning. Wyvale garden centres have some clearance seeds at 50p packet. Popped into my one, not a big choice TBH but found these, from T & M, not the organic ones. Were £2.99 pkt of 6 seeds, a bargain at 50p I thought and…"

"Blight got the last outside one at last. The self sown seedling that popped up a month or so back flowered, and then caught blight. Now removed as have all of my outdoor toms."

"Picked the ones from Lidl plant with broken truss, it was starting to get grotty, probably due to it's broken stem & subsequent flow of nutrients Not a bad haul though, and because it was self saved seed, no cost either"

"Here's a pic of tow trusses from differnt plants. Grown from self saved Lidl cherry toms I bought for eating last year. Shows the variation even in seeds from the same tomato. There is also a flavour difference, but not so awful that not tasty…"

"I did hear similar on a garden programme, everything is rompning away. They put it down to not a lot of variation between day & night temperatures this year. Normally there is a bigger difference which plants notice, but this year they just keep…"

"One more variety ripening. This one is Tumbling Tom, growing in a wall basket in the conservatory. Seed from Wilkinson's last year in the end of season clearout sale, just to try it. The plant is OK but not quite as the packet description, but…"

"Here's one that popped up from nowhere. A self seeder squeezing in a pot of Rosemary on the front steps I grew toms, dismally, in the front last year, never came to much before blight got them, but I guess this little chap was from one of the…"

"Mark, good idea about replanting the broken bit, but I am hoping they will survive on the bit of attachment there is, also doubtful if enough days left to make new roots and fruit. Time will tell"

"Oops time for a break :-( My Lidl ones have got top heavy with the crop & too short a cane. Because they are self saved seeds I was not sure if they would be bush or cordon, so I went the middle choice and used 5 foot cane. This is the result…"
