my pics are of my fist attempt at showing  and have had the allotment for 8 years  tried to grow long parsnips but never turned out to good better luck next year i hope

Garry I'm no expert on this.  I would say the best guy to ask about long carrots on this forum is Darren Blick.  As last year he had some tremendous carrots..  Here is a Parsnip mix 25 ltrs sieved soil, 15 ltrs silvasand and 25 ltrs sieved peat.  Add 100 gms Superphosphate, 150 gms Sulphate of potash,60 gms Bone meal, 200 gms lime and 300gms of powdered calcified seaweed.  I grew some good sized ones but got my watering wrong.
