"Just noticed ALDI have as well Debbie. Didn't really look at what's there, but seems to be there usual selection of "general" veg and flowers. Always good if you need a stock of cheap seeds though!!"

New Year - new start!

I am admittedly a little shame-faced at the paucity of my blog posts in 2011. I started out well, with a great fervour, but then work commitments at home and abroad brought it all to a grinding halt. Sadly the lack of blogging was also elected in a lack time spent down on the Church Lane Plot. :-( Full post can be read …See More

Sowing the seeds...

As I intended one of the functions of this Blog to be a "diary" to accurately record sowing, planting and harvesting times for my various crops - I'd better get on with it as I have started the process! Full post can be read here Stephenin The Church Lane KitchenSee More

Starting to catch up...

Although I don't seem to have blogged in a while, it's not from the fact that I have been sitting around doing nothing - honest! What with a bit of time spent down in London, and then a couple of sunny & bright (if a little breezy!) days, I thought I should devote some time to the Plot and the Garden as well. So I did... Full post can be read …See More

"Thanks Flighty. Bonfires are not something I do very often (I know they can be a rather emotive issue!) but sometimes it's a sensible way to deal with a mountain of stuff I think. "

Fairweather Gardener (If but it were...)

"Fair" weather that is...

OK. I admit it. I am just a fair-weather gardener / allotmenteer deep down. It isn't that I lack commitment, or that I don't mean well... it's just that when it is cold, wet, grey and miserable, there seem to be so many other things on the "To Do" list - admittedly things that are indoors - that are more attractive.

Stirrings...

I was rather excited yesterday morning to notice that the seeds I sowed last week are making their first tentative steps of growth.
