Its slow-going on Plot 13...
After a few stops and starts I have managed to get my first crop - a large bunch of daffodils (King Alfred) to give my mum for Easter!! Have finally met the president of the allotment committee and also some more of the neighbours - a friendly bunch.
Ive been busy clearing other peoples rubbish from my plot - people seem to think coz the plot isnt cleared they can dump their rubbish on mine :-( So still lots of rubbish to sort!! Think my…

After some time away trying to find a job and important things like that I made the decision to not rush to get crops in for this growing season but to prepare the allotment for winter and do some proper planning for the next year.
Disappointingly I decided to concentrate on the potted-crops on my roof, the urban jungle, but have not had much luck with that this year. I just dont think it got as much sun as it did last year... I have lots of green but not much to harvest…

After the rains at the begining of last week I have finally managed to get into Plot 13 and see what there is as I hacked away at the new plot with my new best friend - a sharp big reaping "axe"!!! It looks like a long handled machete!! Unsurprisingly we managed to get through the 4ft stinging nettles, small trees, brambles and bushes with ease!!…

After disaterous couple of weeks which resulted in this week me being made redundant and breaking my iPhone I finally managed to secure myself a sizeable allotment on Friday!!! Hoorah!!
I received some useful and helpful advise from the allotments secretary I chose a location close to the water source, near the entrance and also to the car park. All agreed and just about to sign when was informed it was plot 13!!!
