Frozen In time waiting for the sun....

It’s been a very frustrating year so far for the allotment march promised so much but all downhill from there. I have never know a May as cold as what we are having at present, nothing wants to grow most plants seem “frozen in time” ready to burst into life at the first sign of sun. read more.....

"Eucalyptus oil is a natural insecticide so it might not be compatible with mushrooms. I know fungi are not insects but they might be a bit particular to the kind of wood they prefer. Personally I've never had any success with those dowel kits…"

Today I coppiced my Eucalyptus tree as it was getting far too big and all full of top growth and nothing below but I have a nice size stump left over.For some wile now I have wanted to grow mushrooms on some hard wood stumps down on the Allotment but haven’t found any good hardwood to use.Does anyone know if I can use the Eucalyptus to grow mushrooms?See More
