Cliptomania and other afflictions of the gardener's body, mind and soul

I recently had to admit to being a ‘seedaholic’.  This realisation led to me to think of other afflictions that are unique to the gardening fraternity - the Prof had a lot of fun with this game and eventually had to be banned from playing as my self-esteem began to suffer –here are just a few I came up with....See More

Nasturtium Vinegar

Posted on July 22, 2011 at 9:01 1 Comment

After last week’s efforts in the kitchen using my herbs in various oils, vinegars, sugars and salts, I decided to try something a little more unusual this week.  I eventually landed on nasturtium vinegar.  It’s a bit of an experiment but I did find a recipe that I sort of followed and I’m working on the assumption that the peppery flavour and bright flowers will lend themselves well to a herbal vinegar.  Read…

Open Gardens - I Survived

Posted on June 21, 2011 at 1:22 2 Comments

Thanks for all your encouragement; I'm glad I decided to go ahead despite my previous misgivings.
