"You should be able to get pot-grown crowns from most garden centres. If you get them in soon, put plenty of muck in the planting hole and give em a good watering you'll be OK."

Welcome to the forum, Maureen.

The best advice I can offer to someone with all that growing space is don't try and do it all at once. Decide what you want to grow and get a few beds marked out and ready for planting. Then just enjoy it.

Colin is bang on with his advice.  That's a lot of growing space, so try and get your beds roughly marked out.  Grow things you like eating and above all enjoy your allotment. Veg growing should be fun.

All the best

John
