"I bet logs would look good. We drove metre-long steel rods in to hold them, but I think you can make higher, stronger walls if you cut the sleepers in half and use them vertically, concreting them in at the base."

"I used railway sleepers too but also used logs from a tree i chopped down, this had a nice rustic effect and looks pretty good, only works on a small incline though...."

"Depends how tall you want your beds to be, but you could just terrace it. I've got an allotment on the side of a very steep hill and many of us use old scaffolding boards to terrace the ground"

I've been absent for ages because I was moving home.Having finally settled into my new place (yes, there are still a lot of boxes to be unpacked), i'm already planning my garden, however the back garden slopes... Not excessively, but enough that I am looking for advice on how best to build my raised vegtable beds. Anyone have experience of this, and advice they think would be helpful? See More
