"I bet logs would look good. We drove metre-long steel rods in to hold them, but I think you can make higher, stronger walls if you cut the sleepers in half and use them vertically, concreting them in at the base."

I've got an allotment on the side of a very steep hill and many of us use old scaffolding boards to terrace the ground"
