About Me

I have only been growing for a couple of years now, after being encouraged by my Dad. He built me a raised bed for my birthday last year, and I caught the growing bug! Of course, neither of us could have predicted that I would have inherited the entire garden by the end of the year.

I have thrown myself into the challenge 100%, Dad taught me well, but i've still got a LOT to learn! I am creating my own new growing area in the garden, with yet another raised bed planned for this year. I also want to create a wild flower (mini) meadow and an english cottage style garden around my new Shepherds Hut.

I hope to update on my progress, it looks like a busy year!

Any advice would be smashing!

QVC Stock Plug Plants

My first try at ordering plug plants went well! They arrived carefully packaged in a set of 72 plants, and were *quite* easy to remove and pot up, a few casualties but overall, I'm pleased! Lets just hope they grow, my cottage garden will suffer…

Cat Prevention Tips

Hello everyone! My first post on the forum, because I really can't keep calm any longer! It all started in the autumn when the neighbourhood cat began using my raised beds as a litter tray - utterly revolting, but luckily as it was late in the season, I didn't have much growing. I looked online and saw tips such as scattering lemon peel/pepper/curry powder on the spot - and that DID work....until it rained. So I ended up having to cover the entirety of my two beds with netting and wire - not…See More

Hi Katie

I'm particularly impressed by your first swedes and your pear. All the best for the new growing season.
