"This winter, with little else to do in the garden,  we created a fairy village in an old metre square raised bed. The kids scavenged for suitable stuff and an upturned wire hanging basket frame became the fairy house, covered in ivy.…"

"Looks like an excuse for a jolly good bonfire! Not sure I would use sodium chlorate-think it remains in the soil, unlike glyphosate which is taken up by the weeds when actively growing but becomes inert in soil. SBK brushwood killer can be applied…"

Hello Everyone, Thanks for all your comments and suggestions on where to begin my plot. As you can see from the title the old goat pen was the eventual winner and this is what it looks like!   It requires a bit of work as I'm sure you can see but hey ho in the same way that just watching fitness dvds will never make me a size 8, just sitting and reading veg forums will never make me a veg gardener.
