Jade Hwang replied to Mark Willis's discussion What are you harvesting in July?
"Harvest in earnest now.  Tomatoes are slow ripening due to the cooling weather.  Summer will soon come to a halt."

"It's strange for peaches to flower this early.  They do need warmer weather for set fruits.  The ornamental cherry flowers attract most bees.  I don't know whether my other peach tree planted last year have survived…"

Colin Robinson replied to Jade Hwang's discussion Peach tree in full blossom, but no bees ! It will be another year without peaches to pick?!
"One of my plum trees is covered in blossom but at least we have insects around. It doesn't have to be bees for pollination, many other flying insects will do the job although bees are probably best."

After weekly grocery shopping, we went to the local nursery to buy some ericaceous compost and 'have a look around'.

The nursery is full of all sort of plants, stuff and shoppers.  We spotted some bargains straight away, the 4planter grow bags are a third cheaper than the allotment shop, the sweet peas are lush and tomato seedlings are strong and tall at 60p each.  the trolley was loaded up with bags and pots of plants.  Then I remembered it's first day of April and I' d  have to…

Hello and welcome. I'm a Leicester gardener too, having a good first year. My biggest problem is finding the time to keep on top of everything that needs doing.
