Ian Armour posted a discussionThe Green Circle Garden consists of ten self-irrigating raised bed garden units designed to provide horticultural therapy for people of all ages, especially for those with mental or physical disabilities, such as alzheimer sufferers. The innovative modular raised garden beds for accessible gardening allow users to reach all the cultivation area, the units are suitable for children’s use and allow scope for creativity.
Gardening can be a very fulfilling activity for the elderly. Tending plants can overcome feelings of isolation by giving individuals the opportunity to play a more active part in the world around them. Being responsible for the care of plants can help residents feel more in control.
The Green Circle Garden has been designed to offer an immersive activity for groups or individuals who suffer from mental or physical disability.
