Flighty replied to Jade Hwang's discussion Are the potato plants out of the small potatos left in the ground any good?
"We all miss some when we dig them up. They're called volunteers, and yes it's worth leaving them to grow. They probably won't be as big, or as many, as ones grown this year but still usually worthwhile. "

A very wet allotment

Posted on April 28, 2012 at 11:28 5 Comments

I've just been for a quick look round the allotment in the rain as I've not been there since Monday. Not surprisingly it's all looking rather bedraggled but lush.

Thanks, Flighty. I'm just getting to grips with the site, but it looks really promising, I'm sure it's going to be a huge hit.

Thanks for birthday message! Have had good day: made apple, pear and ginger conserve (had one message from a friend calling it bear and ginger which I liked!), made a cushion cover, picked loads of raspberries and went out with OH for a meal. Highly productive and just not thinking about the huge list of garden jobs until tomorrow.
