Tomato 'Sungold'

Sungold is my favorite tomato variety. Wonderful taste and colour. I am growing 12 varieties of tomato this season including, Black Cherry, Black Krim, Brandywine, Carbon, Cherokee Purple, Chipano, Gardeners Delight, Gartenpearle, Green Grape, Sungella and Tigerella.

Your 12 varieties sound like a great selection. I can only muster 8 this year. A couple of them are old favourites (like Ferline) but I always try a couple of new ones each year. This time I have got Lisetto and Lizzano (both bush types, and Lisetto is supposedly very blight-resistant). I also have some Sungold, because I have heard it scores well on the flavour front.

Thanks for your comments. I have grown Brandywine before. It produces large pinky red fruits with a good flavour, though my crops have not been very heavy . Better crops and flavour in a warm summer. Black Krim is a favourite large fruited variety with dark flesh and great taste. Gartenpearl is a great little bush variety for pots with lovely flavour and lots of fruits. Green Grape is fun, it has green fruits that get transparent as they ripen, nice flavour. Black Cherry is my mums favorite.
