Very impressive! I like sunflowers and grow various ones, including giant singles.  Last year two of them grew well over nine high.

Hi all, sorry for not replying earlier, but I've been on a winter break to Gran Canaria (smug smirk) We measured the plant at about 13 foot (can't cope with metric) we've grown taller, this was a very wet year and they flowered late. they're tied in with twine in three places to the main pea support posts. They'd probably have done even better if I'd remembered to feed them!

I'll be growing them again this year but no doubt the parakeets will chomp their way through the flower heads as they did last year!

I must also remember to stake and tie them properly as I didn't so sadly lost a few!
