there is a wide range of the scale of gardening in schools, some schools really embrace it, and yet there are others that just do it to get a bit of extra funding!!!  Perhaps it should be brought into schools asa compulsary subject, lets face it it covers geography, science and home economics!!  If kids are taught how to respect nature then I believe they will grow up with not only a greater respect of the world around then but of themselves too!!

Next week I'll be supporting younger gardeners and their teachers at Fallin Primary School in Stirlingshire who are getting ready for their orchard planting day towards the end of the week.  It's -6 degrees Celsius today so wish us above zero to get the pits dug.
