UK Veg Gardeners

Just thought I'd give gardening parents and grandparents a heads up on a couple of children's Garden and Green craft books I've recently received for review. Their arrival is very timely as I'm involved in a newly formed primary school gardening club from this week.

Although I have quite a few ideas of my own, I've found several projects in these books that I like the look of and will be incorporating into my own veg patch!  Crafting is great for keeping children occupied as well as teaching basic skills and patience and there are projects here for both outdoors and in, rainy or dry. If anyone is interested, my reviews are here:

I'd be interested to know of any other garden books for children that other group members find inspirational and useful.

Thanks for looking and happy gardening!

Thanks for the reviews, managed to get a copy of dawn isaacs book through the book people at a reduced price. I'm volunteering at a junior school and a nurserry so its good to have some tips and crafts to fall back on. The most popular activities this week are picking peas, strawberries and rhubarb-then eating them!

Well done Jan, I love a bargain and there are some really good ones to be had at Book People. Glad you found Dawn's book, although I'm amazed that it's discounted already - shows how fast the market moves.  We've found crafting in the garden club invaluable, with all this rainy weather we've been indoors more than out!  I've also done seed quizzes for the children, using really obvious ones like corn, tomatoes, sunflowers, etc.  Gets them thinking about the whole growing process.
