I thought it would be good to have a place to share any freebies that you might see (e.g. seeds) or any good bargains (e.g. plants, equipment)

PS re potato planter kits - could buy Charlotte from Poundland and use an old compost bag and get the same results for even less £ ;)

Seriously - I've tested some of the kits out vs using an old compost bag and did better with the compost bag spuds. A 'volunteer' in my compost heap which I didn't realise was there until it was well the way to producing its crop did even better!

I didn't get good results with the compost bag version so will give it one more try with the Gardeners World offer!

Hi Jan - I sure results from either method will be mixed, so 'you pays yer money and you takes yer choice' ;)

Just spotted a 3 metre polytunnel reduced to £19.99 at Selections online shop-shame I don't have a flat piece of ground to put it on. 4.5 metre available too.

OMG-hubby says he can level up the plot for me so I ordered one- selections.com is the name. Have bought from them before and found them to be reliable-lots more stuff reduced.

Just got quite excited about the possibility of a reduced price polytunnel (my problem has been in finding one small enough, this one would've been perfect) … sadly, there's no mention of said bargain on the selections.com website.  I guess that's the power of community forums - once said, all gone!

When it arrives I will check to see who makes/imports it if possible and let you know. Sorry!

Went to my local garden centre today-formerly Wyevale, half price sale on seeds and lots of plants, including fruit trees.
