I thought it would be good to have a place to share any freebies that you might see (e.g. seeds) or any good bargains (e.g. plants, equipment)

B&Q does a decent cheap version £1.98 a bag but usually on 5 for 4, I used them last year & everything grew really well.

Comment by Andy Naylor on May 4, 2011 at 18:21 Hi Caro,
Thanks for the seeds they arrived today, i'll let you know how they taste! Not worried that i won't like them, if i don't like the first bite then i tend to try cooking it as many different ways as possible till i do like it!
Thanks again
Andy

Comment by Caro on May 5, 2011 at 14:51 Yes, I have! Zoe, it was the first proper recipe I attempted! Can't go wrong with cake, I always think... I was told it's very popular in Australia. The one I made definitely had undertones of beetroot but it's a wonderfully moist cake and I quite enjoyed it with a dollop of cream on the top! Yum. Definitely worth baking! (If you're interested, recipe can be found on my blog here (scroll down the page):

and let me know how you get on!
